licenses, driving tests and ID Cards New Florida residents must get a
Florida driver's license within 30 days of establishing residency. Drivers with
a valid out-of-state driver's license must take a vision examination. Those
seeking a Florida license must be at least 16 years old, although restricted

16 years old to attend school. A child must be five years old on or before
September 1 to attend kindergarten. To enter first grade, a child must be six by
September 1 of the school year.
To enroll in Tampa Bay, Florida/Hillsborough County
area's public schools, state law requires that new students show complete
immunization records - including dates of shots - and a physical examination
certificate signed by a licensed medical doctor within the past 12 months, plus
proof of MMR shots. In addition, new students must have documentation of birth,
a Social Security number and proof of residency. A declaration of domicile is
needed if parents/guardians have not lived in Florida for at least one year, are
not in the military, or have not purchased a residence.
